Right of person registered to vote.

(2) No person who is serving in the Colony as a member

of the regular naval, military or air forces of the Crown

shall be entitled to be registered as an elector.

Residence in any premises shall not be deemed to

be interrupted for the purposes of this Ordinance by reason

only of absence of the person whose residence is in question

for a part or parts of the qualifying period not exceeding

four months in the whole.

9. (1) A person who owns or occupies any premises as

executor or trustee or in any other capacity which does not

in law constitute him actual owner or tenant thereof shall

not be deemed to have the requisite property qualification in

respect of such premises.

(2) Where any premises are in the joint ownership of

two or more persons such premises shall for the purposes of

this Ordinance be treated as owned, to the exclusion of the

other or others, by the one of such joint owners named first in

the Land Office registers in relation to the transaction by

which the premises were acquired by them who possesses the

other qualifications entitling him to registration.

(3) Where any premises are/occupation of two or more

persons as joint tenants such premises shall for the purposes

of this Ordinance be treated as occupied, to the exclusion of

the other or others, by the first of such occupiers who shall

be entitled to and apply for registration as an elector having

a property qualification in respect of such premises.

c. 10. Every person registered as an elector for any

constituency shall, while so registered (and in the case of

a woman notwithstanding sex or marriage), be entitled to vote

at an election of a member to serve in the Council for that

constituency:

Provided that a person registered as an elector shall

not be entitled to vote more than once for the constituency

comprising the whole Municipality or more than once for any

electoral division or ward, or to vote for more than one

electoral division or ward.
